Today I am grateful for:

The feeding routine for cats is getting a little better. It's pretty hectic trying to feed five cats, and one of them needs different food, and they all try to steal from each other. I've been trying to stay in problem solving mode for this, and have made a few tweaks. I now put Hans in a kennel to eat, because he is the worst stealer. I also started thawing out their food the day before in the fridge, so that when I get up it is soft, instead of hot water thawing it so there is one less step I have to do when I get up.

I went for a walk with Roxy at the usual park down the road. There was a gorgeous sunset.

My sweetie got off early from work, did a few things in town on his way home (he bought primer for the addition now that the drywall is done), and met Roxy and I at the park. It blew Roxy's mind to see him there walking towards us.

We got a bunch of little things done, like took out the recycling and compost, brought the shop vac to the house so I can clean the addition, took salt blocks out to the horses, ponies/goats, then did dishes, changed sheets, folded clothes, did laundry.

Then we went home, and watched two episodes of the "Wheel of Time" series. My sweetie has read enough of it that he can act as an interpreter for me. It was good, but he says they are messing with the timeline of the books a lot.

I learned that some zoos train the animals to lie down so that they are easier to check on, and they don't have to use sedatives all the time. I learned this from a YouTube channel called Bondi Vet, all about interesting experiences with vets in Australia. The vet in this episode needed to treat a Rhino's feet, and the zoo had him trained to lie down quietly so he could work on them, with no sedative. That Rhino was so calm he fell asleep.

I learned that January 27 is officially Auschwitz Liberation Day, this day in 1945 is the day that survivors of Auschwitz were freed.

That the Cookie Monster has an actual name: Sid. I did not know that. I watched that show for my entire childhood and I don't think it was ever mentioned.
