I just watched a cool TED talk about a guy who has had some wonderful life experiences, but some of the most wonderful ones were not things you could have planned, they were serendipitous and spontaneous.

Then I also thought, I have had some really cool experiences too, and they are already in the past, and there's no way they were on my bucket list.

I suppose you could blandly refer to them as memories, but why not things that were unplanned bucket list experiences?

Anyhow, I think I might mention some of the cool things that have happened that I never could have planned.

One really interesting thing that happened, is when my Sweetie and I were moving from Manitoba to Alberta, we kind of made it a road trip. We camped in a few places, and looked around in some little towns and poked our noses into out of the way places.

I can't remember what town we stopped in, but it had a really old down town. Very small town prairie buildings with the big front windows and false fronts. We walked around, and ended up in this store that literally felt like we had walked through a door into another era.

It was a Chinese apothecary, but a REAL one, and I don't know if this person had sold anything in a hundred years. It had wooden shelves, an old wooden floor, and it had glass bottles, and row after row of woven grass baskets with dried herbs and...animals in them. Like actual dried bats and lizards. The guy behind the counter legit was Chinese, and was totally serious about selling us some dried bat if we wanted it.

We didn't buy anything, but maybe we should have, or taken some pictures, anything to prove that this place was real. It's likely gone now, but I truly wish that it could have been preserved exactly the way it was, as a historical site. The whole thing should have been in a museum.

If I ever write a book or even a short story, I need to find a way to work this store into it.

Loved this! :)

"unplanned bucket list experiences?" could totally sell and become a 'thing.'

And I think it's REALLY important to go over the treasures we were given in our lives already and remember those unique things. They are like water springs bringing up good and sparkling clean life again into us.... because it's LIFE that we ALREADY live and HAVE. <3

:)

That sounds like a massively cool experience! Now I've gotta figure out if I've ever had any "unplanned bucket list experiences!"
