Today I am grateful for:

Reasonably nice weather, though the wind was cold.

That it didn't snow TOO much last night.

My husband talked to the carpenter this morning, and he will give us an estimate for building the stairs. The other person is coming tomorrow.

My Sweetie also took our friend over to our mechanic's to pick up the truck. I said that we might still buy it, but we would need to negotiate the price based on the fact that it will need a big job (radiator) right away. Our mechanic felt that otherwise it was in decent shape. Our friend might just decide to sell it to someone else. That's okay too.

We went to town to do a few useful things.

We dropped off our tax information at the tax place.

We picked up the animal bedding pellets that I use for cat litter. A very sweet kid about five years old helped me find the bird seed, and "helped" me lift it onto my cart. We pet the store cat together. He loves kitties too.

We went to the Habitat for Humanity. It sells used building supplies, furniture, books, etc. My sweetie found four doors (no frames or handles) that while they don't match, they are nice quality and brand new. They were floor models, and about half the retail price. We didn't have the truck, so we will have to wait to pick them up, but this is one more little thing decided.

It is still not PROGRESS, it is my husband's favorite faux progress activity: to buy materials. After all, those doors are a long way from being installed.

I found a few things too.

Then we went for a walk around the little man-made lake. It has a nice walking path around it. Truly, we don't go for enough walks like this. This winter has been odd that way. Last winter my husband was working nights and we weren't even getting up until 3 pm, so it was always too dark to go for walks.

We got some groceries. AGAIN. Some of it is for him to take back to his work apartment. I didn't need much, but I am surprised that it seems like I always need something only a few days after the last trip.

I am still always grateful for getting groceries.

We came home and watched "Reminiscence", which was okay.

Today I learned that Kuwait does not have any rivers or lakes, and is almost entirely dependent upon its six (or more now?) desalinization plants for drinking water.
