Today I am grateful for:

Time spent outside with the animals. It may have been gray and on the verge of being crappy, but it was still only a little bit below freezing, and it didn't hurt my face to be outside.

With most of the snow gone, I could walk around the horse pasture with Roxy again. Often part way through winter we get enough snow that our packed trails disappear, or a melt/thaw cycle turns the snow to hard icy sheets, and for a while we don't walk in the pasture.

Today I took her ball chucker out and we had some nice exercise.

I spent a bit of time working with Dandy, since the snow is gone in their pasture, and I finally have some flat, open ground to work on. He did pretty well, considering I haven't done much with him all winter.

I need to get him used to me handling his *ahem* sheath. He kicked a lot at my hand today, but he stopped after a while, though not happy at all with the situation. He really needs it cleaned, and I need to be able to do that fairly regularly, so for a while my new hobby is going to be touching my pony on the dick. Sigh.

I had a nice bath.

I made two more bracelets. I already have 11 of the necessary 15 made, but I want to make several more than that so that I can pick out the nicest ones to give to R for the show.

Then I binge-watched some Gotham (really good! I love how you see the origins of all the characters.) while also trying to sort and put away the mountain of clothes I've been washing.

I wonder what kind of witchcraft truly clean people use to have nice homes. The kind where you just know there isn't cat hair and dust under the bed or in every corner. Where you know they don't have half a can of very old soup in the refrigerator, or boxes of dusty craft stuff hiding upstairs. The kind that always have nice, fresh looking bathrooms and rugs that don't look suspiciously like flat warthogs.

Maybe those people are slightly psychopathic, and have no sentiment towards objects. Either it looks perfect or they toss it remorselessly? Or they allow themselves ten books, and that's it? Buy five complete outfits every year, and donate those clothes at the end of the year and buy five new outfits? Only three pairs of shoes?

I fantasize about tidy homes, but I just don't have it in me to achieve that look. I imagine it would mean not having animals, and few of the other things that bring me joy.

I learned that Japan really loves the band "Queen". April 17 is unofficially Queen Day in Japan, to celebrate their first arrival in Japan in 1975. This is actually a very real thing, with all kinds of celebrations. While it is not a national holiday, a lot of people do participate.
