Apr. 19th, 2022 12:37 amToday I am grateful for:
A slightly more pleasant day. Still chilly, but above zero.
I went to town and got groceries. Once again it seemed like a mountain of supplies, but I stocked up on a few things that were on a great price only if you bought multiples. I don't mind since it is things I use regularly. That means things that will last longer than a week.
I got lots more of the store brand canned cat food that seems so hit and miss lately in terms of availability.
I got some giant plastic freezer bags, and I am going to see if I can fit a sweater in them. I might still use the vacuum storage bags, but my thought is that I will end up not bothering to get sweaters out of those, because it would be a lot of trouble. If they are individually stored in bags, it wouldn't be too annoying to get one sweater out to wear it, and not too hard to put it back in a bag to store.
I am always grateful for groceries, and being able to drive to town and get them myself.
I went to pottery, alone again. There is some kind of lag in firing, since some of my pieces have gone away, but also not returned after a few weeks. Normally once you don't see them on the cart (you put things to be fired on a cart that goes to the kiln room) that means they are currently being fired and they will return the next time you have a class, but not so much these days.
The firing schedule is much more mysterious these days, because at this studio the kilns are in a special room in another part of the building, and the firing is done by a small group of people. At the other studio it was a much more open process because the main studio had the kilns at one end.
I didn't have an especially long session, but I trimmed several items I threw last time. They aspire to be plant pots, mostly (one potential lidded jar?).
I knew that Lance Armstrong had been stripped of his wins at the Tour de France because of his use of enhancements. I didn't know that for all seven of those races, they did not retroactively award other wins or upgrades in placing, because of other riders also found to be using enhancements. Those races simply do not have any winners.
