Today I am grateful for:

That I do have blankets for the animals.

Today was YUCKY. It snowed, and snowed, and snowed. WET snow, which sucks for the animals.

I didn't go see River today, because I figured the roads would be bad, and the visibility.

I had a very hard time getting the blanket on Brownie the goat, because she has decided that when I try to catch her now, I am evil. I finally did get it on her, silly girl.

I tried to at least do something to make the house nicer for myself. It really bothers me when things are dirty or cluttered, yet I generally live in a cluttered, not so clean state. It takes a LOT of work to actually clean everything at the same time, so usually I just clean a few things here, a few things there, and live in a semi-clean state.

I did some laundry, put some away, put wool socks in zip loc bags to hopefully deter moths. I changed the cat litter and vacuumed that room, and then the rugs. I did dishes, picked up things meant for recycling, that kind of thing.

Today I learned about a family of Aboriginal people known as the Pintupi Nine, who lived completely unaware of the modern world in the outback until they reconnected with other tribes people in 1984. They were living a traditional life as their people were living for thousands of years, and had to adjust to the modern world fairly abruptly.

I don't know why it isn't possible to get the goats to stand still for things like trimming their hooves or putting a blanket on them. You can get a horse to stand still for a blanket and they don't freak out. With the goats, everything is dramatic, even if you handle them gently and give them treats.

Huh! At least you can trim their hooves. Puppyhead won't let anyone trim his nails.
