Apr. 29th, 2022 12:16 amToday I am grateful for:
Really beautiful weather today.
The farrier couldn't' come today after all, will have to reshedule.
I didn't "do" much today. I mainly really enjoyed being outside with the ponies and goats in their bigger pasture. I made a call to my sister E again, and just sat outside.
My sister E told me that the meeting with the home care coordinator and her MIL went really well. They worked out the details of the services available, and it looks like now Home Care will be dropping in twice a day to help her with meals (they will microwave them too) and to make sure she gets her medication correctly, and she will get help with showering weekly.
My sister says she will make an appointment to do an assessment with her MIL's doctor, to see if she is okay still in her own home, and to begin the process of preparing for a care home in the next year or two.
My sister says she was able to get a good night's sleep after we talked two days ago, because she felt so relieved that it was "okay" to start planning for a care home, and that even to have a plan helped so much.
I spent some time brushing Ursula and Dandy, and delighted in the massive drifts of hair coming off of them. I did a tiny bit of work with each of them, just haunches yields, leading correctly, and small circles around me (preparation for future lunging work). They did very well.
I did a tiny amount of digging in the garden to pull grass. I do this before I till to get rid of the roots.
I learned about an interesting idea today: how do you deal with the issue of jurisdiction pertaining to crimes comitted in space when there are people from several different countries that could be involved?
This may require countries to go to court together, or it may result in an entirely new set of laws similar to maritime law, though maritime law usually only deals with crimes like rape and murder, whereas there are many other kinds of crime that need to be addressed with space travelers.
