Thursday, May 5
May. 5th, 2022 10:58 pmToday I am grateful for:
Really beautiful weather today.
Confusion with the farrier, she thought we were doing hooves today, but it was meant to be NEXT Thursday...? Anyhow, it's next Thursday now.
I made it to the optometrist. I haven't been in a very long time. I very much need new glasses. Anyhow, that's all done, and super expensive glasses are ordered.
I got the mail juussst before the office closed. The part with just the boxes used to be open until 9 pm, but I guess someone started abusing the privilege and now it is closed at 5 pm. Not easy for me to get the mail now.
I went to the thrift store, and found a very pretty summer dress, long and hippy-ish just the way I like them. I also found a velvety sweatshirt that I may live in from now on until one of us disintegrates.
I got a lava lamp via buy and sell, and it is now plugged in and working well. Very cool.
I came home and let everyone out into their bigger pastures for a while, then brought them back in.
The London Bridge has been replaced quite a few times, and the bridge that was built in the 1830's (NOT the iconic London Bridge with the towers) and spanned the Thames for over 100 years, was sold to Robert P. McCulloch (an American entrepreneur) in 1968. McCulloch had the exterior granite blocks shipped to the United states, where they were used to face a new concrete and steel structure in Lake Havesu City, Arizona. Superficially, it looks like the London Bridge, and spans a canal. The re-dedication of the bridge took place in 1971.
