May. 13th, 2022 12:28 amToday I am grateful for:
Very lovely weather today. Warm and sunny.
I was able to get Fatty to the vet for routine blood work without rushing. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis a few years ago, and has been on Prednisolone for controlling his immune system. The blood work is to make sure everything is working okay, so that he can keep taking it. I am relieved that it came back with everything normal. The vet does want him to get some dental work done, but that will have to be in a few weeks.
I was able to get groceries super fast while Fatty was at the clinic (they apparently don't have the owner in the examination room right now?), which was GREAT because I didn't get groceries this week when I was at pottery, like I usually do.
It was a very fast run through the store, but I got enough to keep me going until I have more time. As always, I am grateful for being able to get groceries.
I managed to look at two yard sales, and there wasn't much I was interested in, but I did get some simple picture frames.
I came home and had a big nap.
Then I let everyone out into their pastures for a while. I raked up pony poop since it is finally dry enough to pick it up. Up until recently it was just a pond in that side of their pen.
Today I learned about a book called "Blitzed", written by Norman Ohler. Read the link, it's really interesting. I knew that Hitler was a bit of a hypochondriac, but according to meticulous records kept by his doctors, Hitler was a raging drug addict. Crystal Meth, cocaine, an opiate called Eukodol, steroids, animal hormones, and many many other drugs were routine for Hitler. Daily drug cocktails. That explains a lot, doesn't it?
Crystal Meth was also given to the soldiers, to quell their fear and help them stay awake.
