gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
Gorgeous weather.
I went to town today, and did some useful things, and some recreational things.
I went to the Coop and got dog food and some more seeds.
I picked up the mail.
Found some clothes at the nice consignment shop.
I picked up my new glasses, and I am happy that they look and feel good, and it doesn't feel weird to look through the new lenses. My sweetie met me there to pick his up too.
Then we went for a walk together around the big lake in town. It has a nice boardwalk at one end, and good walking/biking paths. Lots of ducks and marsh birds around.
Talked to a nice couple with a sweet doggie that looked an awful lot like a coyote.
Then my Sweetie headed home in his car (he's back from work for a few days) and I went to the thrift store. I mostly found some nice belts. Lately I've been working on 'completing outfits', because I keep meaning to wear something, but I don't have the right accessories for it, or the right top, etc. So I am making a point of shopping for items to make complete outfits so I might finally wear something I already own.
Then I went home, and let everyone out into their pastures while my Sweetie and I did more work in the garden. We pulled grass, removed the big tire that I had unsuccessfully tried to use for strawberries (nothing seems to work to keep out the quack grass, which strangles the strawberry plants) and tilled that half and added compost and tilled again. This half is now ready to plant.
I learned that Ernest Hemingway was portrayed by the media as being paranoid in his later years, because he always thought the FBI was following him and recording everything he said, and bugging his phones. It was blamed on alcoholism, mental illness, etc. Except he really was being closely monitored by the FBI because he used to work for them, and because he was friends with Fidel Castro.
