Today I am grateful for:

Another summery day.

Not needing to go anywhere in particular, and no big push on anything.

I did go look at a tiny old house that someone is selling to move, because it might work for a pottery studio. It is pretty sweet, but I am not sure we are ready for it. Oh well, it's okay to look.

I went for a walk at a little park, the one that has a little farm house and yard in it still. I love that, it makes you feel like you are going to visit friends...in 1940.

Then I came home and had a nap.

I let everyone out into their pastures for a while, while I...wait for it...pulled more grass in the garden.

I used up pretty well all of the water we had in the two big tanks to water the garden over the last couple of weeks. They collect rain water from the garage and the house.

We could really use a good rain. We haven't had any real rain, the last appreciable amount of precipitation was snow.

I finished reading "Crazy Rich Asians", and enjoyed it. It is really interesting because it is about the culture of the very wealthy. It really is astonishing what life is like for people with that much money.

I learned that the Lion costume in the Wizard of Oz was actually made out of a real lion. That's upsetting.

That 1940s house made me smile how you wrote about it. :)

Didn't they make that into a movie? I've never read or seen either, but I thought a friend told me about it.

Maybe you can make an offer on the little house, make it into a studio, and invite other potters to rent time occasionally.

The movie they made from the book was pretty good, some day I'll get around to the book.

We had our first rain in almost six months yesterday, what a nice change of pace!

The hazards of living in the desert. Rain is sparse and tends to come all at once to make up for it.

Hopefully you get enough rain for a good hay crop. They just pump all the water out of the ground here and irrigate. And when I say all the water I mean it. The water table here is scary-low and there's places in my area where sinkholes and fissures open up because of it.
