Well, it didn't rain AS MUCH as it could have?
I woke (admittedly, pretty late) to someone gently tapping on my bedroom window. I ignored it. This is very likely the woman who lives across the road, who comes to see me randomly, but never texts first no matter how many times I give her my phone number and tell her that her chances of seeing me improve with notice. She's nice, but why so adamant about "just dropping in" instead of asking if I would like to get together? Why would you tap on my bedroom window? If you suspect I am still sleeping, would it improve things to wake me up to visit?
Anyway.
I had a pretty quiet day. I didn't do anything that resembled work on the garden or yard, because everything is sodden.
I went to see River, and that was nice. He was relaxed and a bit sleepy, even though there was a lot of commotion outside. There was thunder, rain falling on the tent-like roof of the arena, and after a while we were joined by another rider and her horse having a lesson.
She has two horses, and has to trailer both of them because they are very bonded. If she only took one, the horse left at home would lose it's mind. Instead, she brought it with her and he lost his mind in a corral right outside the arena. Thankfully River paid them no attention and we got our work done.
I came home and let everyone out for a while, then spent some time grooming Dandy's thick mane and just trying to scratch poor little Brownie-goat who is half mad from mosquitoes.
I learned that L Robin Williams was offered, and accepted the role of The Joker in the 1989 film, "Batman." Warner Brothers had only made the offer to bait their first choice, Jack Nicholson, into signing on, which he eventually did. Williams was furious, and demanded an apology from the film studio.
I would have been very interested in seeing how Robin would have played that character.

Date: 2022-06-23 04:23 am (UTC)Poor Robin Williams. I admit that growing up with the cartoon, we always liked the Joker. He was not portrayed like in the movies (won't watch those)! I think Robin Williams could have made the Joker likeable like that if he chose, but ah well.
Well done, River! Sleepy and relaxed but not letting anything distract focus from your work together. :)
That lady just sounds.... odd. Who does that but in sitcoms?
You take it with much more grace than I could. I may be sweet and pleasant in the midst of an overwhelming amount of daily crap.... but there are moments. Sleep is one of them. I. will. be. a bear. if someone dares to disturb my slumber for anything less than a fire or emergency. hahaha! :)

I actually WOULD like to chat with her, or whatever, but I hate people just dropping by and assuming I want to visit at that time.
