Today I am grateful for:

Just saying "screw this rain" and heading to town for the day. I can't do anything in the yard when it is raining like this constantly.

I needed to buy frozen cat food, and there is only one store near here that sells this brand.

I got the mail.

I found a KICK ASS pair of booties at the second hand boutique. They have very nice things, and not everything is cheap (some is a steal). These boots were less than half of what they would have been new, and they don't even look like they've been worn. I would never have bought them full price.

Then I found some thrift store treasures. There were some good sized blank canvasses on proper wooden frames for dirt cheap. That was a good find. Though I mostly do watercolor, I dabble in acrylic and oil from time to time.

Then I went to Winner's with a goal: to find a top or two to again fill in specific wardrobe blanks. This time for a skirt that nothing seems to go with. I found three very inexpensive t-shirt type tops, and when I tried them on at home, two of the three will work with this skirt, and one of them will also work with some other "difficult" skirts. So, bonus points.

I am starting to see results with shopping with specific goals, as I am now able to make actual working outfits out of some things that I love but haven't worn because I don't know what to wear with them. I've been able to do it mostly with thrift store items or things on clearance.

I had a lovely veggie burrito in town, and the person who put it together for me seemed SO NICE. He put so much stuff in it he could hardly fold it. Mmmm.

I learned that even with modern search and rescue resources, there are still ghost ships. Some are found with a few dead crew, some are found at sea or beached, with no sign at all of the crew, whose whereabouts are unknown.

Some ships are seen drifting at sea for a long time after they have been abandoned.

19–20 June 2012, the T.T. Zion: This private yacht grounded on Fort Lauderdale Beach around 1:15 a.m. on 20 June, with its navigation lights on and engines still running. The vessel appeared sea worthy but a broken tie-bar could have caused steering problems.[52] Items belonging to owner Guma Aguiar were found on board, but no sign of him or any other passenger was found.[53]

In February 2020, the MV Alta ran aground near Ballycotton, County Cork on the coast of Ireland during Storm Dennis. It had previously been encountered adrift and unmanned in the mid-Atlantic by HMS Protector, having been adrift since 2018 after it became disabled, and an operation by the US Coast Guard rescued its crew.[65]
