Jul. 7th, 2022 12:47 amToday I am grateful for:
Sunshine today.
I went to see River, and I am still trying to deal with my feelings about showing, and most likely not doing well.
We worked on the outdoor obstacles, and we are still having issues with the same two obstacles, so we kind of focused on the movements for those.
Then I rode him for awhile, without wanting to do any "work" because we had done a lot with the obstacles, so I just rode him bareback at a walk in the outdoor arena (which was far too wet to do anything else in anyhow).
I had some good conversation with others at the barn, which was nice.
That was pretty much my day. No motivation.
I learned that the Vatican only became it's own self-governing city/country in 1929, though it has been kind of it's own city/state/walled city for a very long time.
I also learned that the actual country of Italy has only existed since 1861 when it was mostly unified into one entity, the Kingdom of Italy (before that it was a collection of city/states, papal regions, and smaller kingdoms). That lasted right up until 1922 when it became a Fascist state. Around 1945, after the second world war, Italy abolished the monarchy and became a Republic.
