Today I am grateful for:

Mostly sunny today, though it did rain for a little while.

I went to see River, and I probably focused too much on the two obstacles he has issues with.

We rode for a little while with the girl with some challenges, and she seemed happy to see us.

I chatted with R for a while about general life things, and it was nice to talk to someone.

Rogers being messed up means I wasn't able to call family.

I came home and let everyone out for a while. The mosquitoes are horrible right now.

I did a bit of weeding.

I came inside and tried to do something to make it a little nicer. I did some laundry, folded and put away some laundry, I did the dishes, vacuumed an area rug, and put a few things away that were visually annoying.

I learned that an alligator can go without eating for two years. Even in normal times, an alligator often goes into a near-hibernating state in colder months where they usually don't eat, but also move very little.

The ability to survive for so long without food, and the ability to go into this near-hibernation state is possibly what allowed the species to survive the K2 event that killed off most of the dinosaurs. Alligators have hardly changed at all since then, meaning that they are pretty much perfectly adapted to their ecosystem.
