Jul. 23rd, 2022 12:44 amToday I am grateful for:
Sunny weather, not too hot. A very pleasant day.
That I was able (I think?) to kill the hornets that were living right underneath a wooden step in front of the barn. I only had a little bit of "death spray" left, and that wouldn't get the nest underneath the step, so I poured about four big pails of water on it, then a bunch of dirt, then some chili powder since they are supposed to hate the smell.
I went back later and I did not see any hornets, and none came out when I threw a rock at it. Hopefully that's done it.
I went to see River, and it was nice not to feel pressure about doing the obstacles today. Instead, we worked in the indoor arena to avoid the mosquitoes, (the light is pretty in the summer, because the cover is like a tent). We did do low-key Liberty stuff, the same hip/shoulder yields and spins, and he did well.
The girl with health challenges was there tonight having her lesson, and we worked while she was there.
We rode for a while, and when she was done her lesson I rode River with just the neck rope and worked on making nicer circles. His trot was really big and forward today.
I came home and let everyone out for a while, and then I just vegged on YouTube videos, mostly music stuff.
I learned that in sign language, there is the equivalent of a "tongue twister" called a "finger-fumbler".
