Jun. 8th, 2019 02:35 amRain! Finally! Some of it was actually snow (it melted quickly), but we finally got some rain!
Being able to go ride River today, as well as dry him off and warm him up and give him some extra feed and put a rain sheet on him afterwards. He was pretty cold with the sleet, and not quite high enough in the hierarchy to get a good spot in the shed. The mares at home were pretty cold too, but both of them fit in the shed.
Getting a few things done in town, and getting more groceries. As always, I am grateful for being able to buy food, and for it to be good, tasty food.
I often see a girl (now almost an adult) who used to be in the library reading program years ago (she also takes lessons at the same riding barn) often at the grocery store where we shop. She's a clerk. It was a little awkward for some reason the first few times I went through her checkout, but now it seems more comfortable. I have so few positive ties to my time working at the library, and it's somehow comforting that someone remembers me from that time, and I remember them too. Otherwise, it's almost like this odd, isolated chunk of time that has nothing to do with my current life, adrift somehow.
My husband worked on the fence project some more. I thought we were almost finished, but he actually wanted to reset a a whole stretch of fence that I thought was just fine. Oh well? It's nice that he's doing it.
Some very good veggie soup, heavy on the beans.
Watched a good movie tonight: Hotel Artemis.
