Today I am grateful for:

A hot, sunny day. A little too hot, but us Northern folk need to have a few days like this to remember that we've had summer.

Today my Sweetie and I got up early, with a big to-do list. Mostly of things we needed to get in town to work on the bedroom/bathroom in the basement.

I suggested that we throw all of the old tires we decided were garbage, onto the trailer and take them to be recycled in town, since we were headed that way anyhow. So we did that.

At the recycling depot, we picked up some big pieces of cardboard that I need to use under the mulch as weed barrier. I think it will work better than that mesh stuff, that doesn't even work because weeds can easily penetrate it.

Then we looked at some agricultural gates, that we will wait until they go on sale to buy as this is not an immediate priority.

We then went to the Co-op and got lumber and other supplies. We bought some bags of concrete for filling in a gap in an area beside the house that will just be a forever weed magnet unless we fill it.

My Sweetie also ordered the siding, because now he says that he didn't need the contractor input to do so, the question about the windows doesn't affect the siding. He apparently just didn't want to order it "too soon". Well, my mind is blown.

We were able to find a sink and cabinet, and a plain toilet to go in the down stairs bathroom. At some point we will have a tub/shower down there, but that doesn't have to happen right now, and can be added later.

He did try to contact the guy at the bank who is handling our investments, but did not get a response from him. At least he tried.

We did several other useful things like got cat food, picked up the mail, and a handful of groceries.

We came home, had a short nap, and then unloaded all of the materials into the basement or the garage, depending on where they will be needed.

What needs to happen now, is for these materials to translate into physical progress on the house. Actual walls. To MANIFEST.

He is trying to get our plumber to install the bathroom fixtures in time for his nephew's visit.

Then, already kind of burnt out, I forced myself to go see River, and it was nice.

It had cooled off a bit by then. It was way too hot to ride earlier.

He was still lethargic, but he did well in our Liberty homework. I am really focusing on learning how to ask yes questions and giving lots of rewards for getting small things right.

I rode for a while with just the neck rope, and worked on the pattern, doing my best not to over work it. I did it once, and he did it well enough for today, and I left it alone.

I got a tiny side pass with just the neck rope, which is really good.

WE came home and watched "Uncharted", which was fun.

I learned that Dasia Taylor invented color changing sutures that detect infection when she was 17. Her invention uses beets, which change color at different pH levels. After learning about smart sutures that use expensive technology, she set out to create a more accessible solution for developing countries.

When I was 17, I was trying to roll up the legs of my jeans the right way to look cool.

lol at 17 :)

Glad there is some movement forward and best wishes for it to manifest as you need.
Happy that you had the liberty work time with River go so well to balance the rest of the wearying day.

Have a good weekend!
