Aug. 13th, 2022 11:15 pmToday I am grateful for:
We got the rest of our hay today. This is the big, round bales that I got from my main hay guy. I should have enough hay now to get through this upcoming winter. It feels nice to get that done.
Our hay guy came by...in the morning again. My sleep pattern is now totally messed up.
My Sweetie got a bit of concrete into that spot that I cleared the weeds out of.
My Sweetie and I went to the city today for a fun day together, since he will be at work on our actual anniversary.
I managed to put together an actual coordinating outfit that looked intentional, and I thought it was very nice.
It was a fairly hot day, but not awful.
We went to the animal supply place to get a few things.
Then we went to an Art Supply store, and I got some nice metallic watercolors.
The book store.
The Fringe Festival is taking place right now, and this year I was adamant that if we were going to bother going to the city at all, we needed to actually make a point of going to see one of the live performances taking place, and commit to sitting down and seeing something.
Other years we go on a whim, don't look ahead to see if there is a performance we are interested in, and we end up just walking around the whole area with no agenda and not really getting into the festival itself, which is all about performance arts. I find that kind of pointless. You're basically just people watching at that point.
SO, we found a comedy troupe doing a really interesting thing. They were given a computer-generated dialogue to begin from that developed four characters, and then they improvised for the rest of the hour. It was hilarious, and a once only performance.
Then we managed to watch a good outdoor performance with gymnastics and hula hoops that was really good.
We ate from one of the vendors (We found an Ethiopian vendor, that had spicy lentils I could eat).
Then we came home.
It was nice to see the performers, and the day felt like a nice break.
I learned that animal “zoomies” have a technical name: Frenetic Random Activity Periods, or “FRAPs”

Date: 2022-08-14 07:37 pm (UTC)Our dog is about 8 years old and she still does that occasionally.
I've seen young foxes playing, and it is probably zoomies.
Heck, I even saw a kid yesterday running around by herself for no apparent reason.
Kind of a fun phenomenon.
