Aug. 15th, 2022 11:35 pmToday I am grateful for:
Another hot, sunny day. A little too hot, now.
The contractor came back today to talk with my husband. Who knows if this guy will actually do any work, but at least he is giving my husband advice.
This time, they discussed the windows. As this is a very old house, it has very old windows that we hope to replace, while still retaining something of their original charm. Not an easy task. We are trying to keep the original wooden frames inside.
My Sweetie worked in the basement, doing a few adjustments to the metal telescoping beams and he got the frame for one wall of the bedroom in the basement up an in place today before he had to leave for work.
It was too hot for me to do much today outside, so I read/napped a bit.
When it was cooler, I let everyone out into their pastures for a while, and I painted the second coat on the door frame at the back. Then I painted the first coat on a different door frame, as well as putting a coat of paint on the wooden exterior door. I will still need to do a second coat.
I learned that Tasmanian Devils bear 20 to 30 babies, but only have four nipples. The first four babies that successfully make it from the birth canal into the pouch stand a chance of surviving, while the rest die.
They are marsupials like Kangaroos, and their babies are born at a very early stage of development as well, and finish their developing for a while in the pouch.
