Aug. 17th, 2022 02:46 amToday I am grateful for:
Hot, but then a little rain. The house stayed fairly cool because I ran the fan last night and cooled the house off, then closed all the windows.
I went to see River, and that was nice.
He was really lethargic with the heat, but we did our best. He did okay at the Liberty work, and still not really giving to the neck rope enough at the trot to do a nice circle.
I finally used my bluetooth speakers to play some music in the arena. I am hoping that working to music will help me to be more fluid, and to keep our pace steady.
I came home, and let everyone out for a while. Then it rained a little.
I desperately needed to pick the green beans, and there are SO MANY beans! I got two pails (three gallon) of beans. It took hours to snap them and bag them, though I am not especially fast at it.
I still have yellow beans to pick, and I will have to go over the green beans again, since you never get them all the first try.
I watched more of "The Outsider" mini-series, and it is really good. It is based on the novel by Stephen King, which I picked up the other day. The books are always way more interesting, because they delve into the minds of the characters more than they are able to with the film versions.
I learned that the largest living organism as of June 2022 is a specimen of "Posidonia australis" seagrass (aka Poseidon’s ribbon weed).Spawned from a single seed around 4500 years old and covering approximately 200 square kilometres (77 square miles), the entire plant is connected and shares the same DNA.
