Jun. 13th, 2019 01:03 amBeautiful warm weather, which I can appreciate now because we had some rain recently. When it is too dry, I end up resenting the warm weather.
A good riding lesson on River. We are making good progress with lateral work.
Feeling some closeness to others at the barn today, as more than one person talked about elderly grandparents, elderly pets, their frailty, and our collective dread of old age and illness. I know that almost daily I think about these things, as I have frail relatives, pets that require a lot of care, and I think a lot about my own life and so on. I suppose this is true for most people, and if nothing else I guess having people talk about it helps me to recognize that we all face hard decisions and hard realities, and that we aren't somehow deficient for having trouble coping with them.
Getting his tack cleaned up, it's been a while since I gave it a good clean and oil.
One of the mares at home was really sore in her front left leg/hoof today, though it seemed better by evening than it was in the morning/last night. I am grateful that it seems to be a little better, though I am still getting a vet to come look at it tomorrow morning.
The garden is finally coming up. It's been really slow this year, maybe because it was cool for May, and dry. We did water, but it might have been too cool to germinate. Anyhow, this week things are finally coming up.
My sweetie getting more fencing done, and the gate installed.
I got a lot of mowing done, so I feel like I've accomplished something useful.
