Sep. 27th, 2022 12:48 amToday I am grateful for:
Another glorious day. The leaves are so beautiful, and the light seems golden too.
My Sweetie got up earlier than I, and spent some very productive time tidying up the garage. He needed to make space on the one side for the windows that are coming at some point (though the contractor talked to the window supplier, because they should have been ready, but now instead of the end of September they are supposed to be here mid October. This is really pushing it to get the work done before it is awful and cold).
He went back to his work apartment this evening.
I went to town for pottery, and the items I glazed last week got fired, and turned out well. Some are plant pots.
I decided to spend some time working with a mountain of reclaimed clay from the community slop pail that was gifted to me. My husband and I are among the few willing to do the work to reclaim the clay (it is the bits of stuff that is from the trays around the wheel, and failed pieces before they are fired that people don't bother to mix again). It takes some effort, but then you get lots of free clay to work with.
I got it pretty well worked over; "wedging" (kind of like kneading dough, but harder) and threw for a while.
I got one bowl that might work.
Lots of clean up. Reclaiming can be messy work. About an hour to clean up.
Fairly exhausted by all the cleaning, I then went to the grocery store.
It was a bigger trip, but I stayed focused and got done before the store closed. I am grateful for the means to get groceries, that I have a vehicle, and the bodily strength to do so.
Nice to have tasty food. I was running low on staples.
Today I learned how alcoholics often developp a form of dementia and issues with co-ordination because alcohol impairs the body's ability to absorb Thiamine.
