Sep. 30th, 2022 04:29 amToday I am grateful for:
Lovely weather.
Things went well with my trip for lino etc. with one of the contractors (the wife, which was a good choice).
She drove, because we were headed to the city, and I am not comfortable driving there.
We found some nice linoleum at a very good price (a perfectly sized remnant). The pattern looks like mostly white marble tiles. Simple, but nice.
We picked up some paint too, so I can go right to that now that the walls in the bathroom are ready (lino after painting is done).
She was willing to do some small errands in the town on the way back from the edge of the city. You pass right by where I get pet food, my contact lenses were ready (and just a block away from where we got paint) and the mail (which was good, because there were important papers and a package for my Sweetie).
We had fun, we joked around a bit, and it was nice. I hope she had fun.
I came home and we put the lino directly into the basement and the other things.
I did a bit of useful things outside. I let the animals out for a while. I took the used cat litter away from the deck (it is compostable, so I dump it by the bush) , I put away some wire shelves that needed to go into the shed, I dumped the compost pail out by the compost pile,
Roxy and I went for a walk around the horse pasture, and enjoyed the recently mowed path.
I came in and vacuumed, did a load of laundry, and washed the rubber mats around the cat litter box (they catch the litter).
I watched "Kobu and the Two Strings" and enjoyed it. Beautiful animation.
I learned that domestic pet rabbits are descended from European rabbits, and are a different species from the wild North American rabbits. That means they are very likely unable to produce offspring, and if they did, they would probably be sterile.

Date: 2022-10-01 10:28 am (UTC)We go to a place called "End of the Roll" and it is literally a clearance house for discontinued patterns, single rolls, and remnants. They are generally very good quality and nice patterns, and often less than half what you would pay otherwise.
This lino looks very nice, and I don't feel the least that it was "cheaping out".
We went there too for the lino in the mudroom, and it looks great. More or less what we would have chosen anyhow.
