Nov. 5th, 2022 02:03 amToday I am grateful for:
That the weather felt okay now that I am used to the snow. The temperature was still pretty mild today, and sunny. The nice thing about snow, is that by reflecting the sun, it seems brighter than when the grass is dead and brown.
My Sweetie spent the day working with the contractor. They unloaded more materials, and talked about what is left that we want done before we are "finished" for now. Things like how much would it cost to finish the insides of the window frames, or to wrap up the bedroom and bathroom downstairs so that they are completely finished and we can have guests.
I am not sure what we can afford to do, but it would be my preference to at least have the window frames finished, and the ceilings installed in the bedroom and bathroom, and the baseboards finished etc.
Getting the windows at least installed was a HUGE accomplishment.
I didn't do a lot today, but I did change the cat litter, sweep up in the sun room (where the litter box is), and vacuum the rug. Another very full cup of dirt and hair in the vacuum cleaner.
The mechanic had a chance to look at my tires. He feels that the winter tires I brought are not better for winter than the all-season tires I have on. He suggested putting the winter tires on for next summer, and using up the remaining tread.
We went to see River, and managed to go early enough not to interfere with K's lesson. River did well on our ground work/Liberty, and I didn't have much time left to ride, but I did some work with the neck rope/no stirrups.
We talked with R for a while. As I mentioned, she is working with River during our lesson time, and again on Thursdays for this month. She said River did really well in her session with him yesterday, and he did not leave when she brought out the syringe (training him to accept oral medication).
Tomorrow is the paint night, and I hope that goes well.
We came home and processed the last of the beets from the garden. We washed, sliced, and cooked them so they could be frozen.
Then we watched "C.H.i.P.s", a newish movie based on the older television series. I enjoyed it. Kind of mindless, but fun.
Today I learned that Psathyrella aquatica is the only recorded aquatic species of fungus in current science. The Mushroom can be found in the rivers near Crater Lake in Oregon
