Today I am grateful for:

A slower pace today, no pressure to do anything or go anywhere, and nice weather too.

It was still -15C outside, but it didn't feel too bad with the sun shining and no wind.

The contractors were still working in the basement today on the tile ceiling in the bathroom. It looks good. I love this bathroom, and how spacious it feels.

I paid the contractor's wife the money she is owed in cash, from the money I got yesterday in town.

I was able to just spend some time outside with the animals. I let the ponies and goats out into their bigger pasture (thus the pictures I posted) and let them run around a bit and paw for grass. The ponies really enjoy doing that.

It gave Roxie some free time to just root around and be a dog. This past week it was pretty cold, and we didn't spend much time outside.

I texted Trainwreck sister, who is still very sick. If she no longer has a room mate, I would worry about her less if she had some kind of buddy system where she called or texted someone at the same time every evening. She drives around a fair bit, and people don't always know if she made it home or not. A very real issue in Canada, especially on low-traffic country roads.

I came in and had another lovely nap with the kitties.

Then I started painting. I primed the spots I missed in the bedroom, and will try to get the first coat of actual paint on in there later tonight.

I got the first coat of paint on the baseboards.

I learned that the largest stadium in history, the Circus Maximus, built in 6BC Rome, it had a capacity estimated at 150,000 spectators. The largest modern stadium, Rungrado 1st of May Stadium, holds 150,000 spectators.

So it was as large as the largest stadium known today.

Phil Collins (with Genesis) had an open air concert at the ruins of this stadium in 2007 to an estimated audience of 500,000 people.

Good grief, -15˚C! I am afraid this is what may be in store next week.
