Nov. 18th, 2022 03:12 amToday I am grateful for:
Colder weather, but not awful.
The animals outside seem comfortable, and that's the big thing.
I decided to be pro-active about getting that damn sea can empty. My husband was too busy and overwhelmed to call any of our friends to come help this weekend, so I asked the contractor if he could help us do that tomorrow, and he said yes (he had made the offer a while ago, so I knew he was up for it).
I more or less told my husband that's what he's doing tomorrow, and he seemed to be okay with it. I don't like to be bossy, but I have come to understand that if my husband sets the agenda, something like this would somehow just end up sliding away, until it dawned on him that he had to go back to work.
I truly hope that it gets DONE, so we can sell it and get it out of the yard. There is not a huge amount left in it, just the big things. It is totally within our ability to finish that.
I enjoyed having a day where I didn't have to go anywhere, and spent some time just sitting with the goats and ponies.
I talked to my Sister E about nothing in particular. It was pleasant.
When my Sweetie got home, we went for a walk around the horse pasture in the near-dark.
We watched a movie called "Rendition" which was kind of sobering. About how the U.S. can just disappear a person without any real justification or legal procedure if they just say it's "terrorism".
Then I got started on my Christmas cards. That always takes a while, and it's supposed to. It is my "keep busy winter thingy".
I learned that a non-custodial parent kidnapped his two sons from Italy and choose to escape Europe on the Titanic. When the ship sank, the young boys were saved but the father drowned. The now famous boys appeared in Newspapers in Italy and their mothers saw them and reunited.
