Not really needing to go anywhere. I would normally have gone to pottery, but decided to stay home.
It was snowing a bit and windy, so the roads would not have been easy anyhow.
Not much that I did today, besides try to get fluid into Fatty.
I did do some dishes.
When we cleared Mom's house out, I took home the old family pictures and the genealogy records. I said I would do my best to make things digital and available to family.
Today on our family page on Facebook, Sister S did kind of a passive-aggressive thing by saying "letting everyone know that ------ has the family pictures and genealogy. She will at some point be posting the images here and making a family tree for us".
My plan was to scan them nicely and try to put them onto thumb drives or all online somewhere, but since she made it sound like she wants them on Facebook, fine.
I took a bunch of pictures with the phone and then put them on Facebook. The quality isn't horrible, but not fantastic.
I did talk to Sister E and Trainwreck today.
I learned that 25% of all species of animals on Earth are beetles.

Date: 2022-11-29 08:10 am (UTC)I am having a terrible time trying to get these stupid liver support pills into him. They are the size of a dime, and thick. If you try to cut it into smaller pieces it crumbles into dust.
So then I try to pulverize it and mix it with water, and there are always small chunks that block the syringe.
I don't know how important it is in the process, since I looked it up and it is like a supplement to support liver health rather than a critical drug. I don't doubt that it is helpful if your cat is eating, and can ingest the pill crushed up in food, but trying to get it into him is making him hate me and runs the risk of aspirating the liquid.

Date: 2022-11-30 06:12 am (UTC)Our brilliant vet told us to wrap a capsule in cream cheese for Pinky, and most of the time he takes it without grumbling. Sometimes he's furious.
Hopefully, Fatty will begin to respond and gain a better appetite. We prepare for anything when our animals get older, don't we?

Date: 2022-11-30 08:40 am (UTC)It is also apparently okay to crush it up and mix it into water or puree that I can give him orally. Not all drugs are okay to crush up because they get absorbed too fast.
I am trying to both allow myself to be sad, and yet not give up all hope. It could go either way.
