gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
An ease in the cold snap. It was fairly mild today, after a day or two of about -25 C.
I was able to take the heavier blankets off of the horses, and to bring the goats back outside.
It was nice to be outside for a change.
We have had one of those weird stretches. Twice now we have had bursts of very cold weather followed by a bounce back of warmer temperatures. Most winters we have some of that.
I went to see River, and we had a lesson today. We spent part of the lesson videoing for another online show I would like to enter. It went pretty well. Then we worked a bit on the shoulders coming with me if I moved over; mirroring my steps.
Then we went into the barn (where my very presence seemed to bother K again, but you know what? I had a lesson too. I am SUPPOSED to be in the barn afterwards. So there.) where we worked on the exercises to encourage him to engage with the dewormer syringe and to work on him being more comfortable having his mouth and lips handled. He genuinely seemed to enjoy his lip massage.
Then I came home and had a quiet evening. I had a nap, I read for a while (the new book from Stephen King: A Fairy Tale. Very good so far.)
I learned that in 1939, Walt Disney won an Oscar for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. He was presented his Oscar, plus seven mini-Oscar statues by Shirley Temple.
