Today I am grateful for:

Decent temperatures still.

A nice day at home.

I spoke with my Mom for a while, and she seemed cheerful.

I puttered all day. I got a few useful things done. I washed the cat bed that Fatty had been using a lot, and it had been soiled.

I put away the dishes I washed yesterday. Did a bit of cleaning in the bathroom. I vacuumed. That kind of thing.

I read some more. Still the Stephen King book.

Then I spent some time working on Christmas cards. I am pretty much finished with making them, so the next step is writing in them and addressing them.

I've been on a bit of a Harry Styles kick the last couple of days, and I like his music but I think he is more interesting as a person. He seems really level-headed and sane for a person who grew up with fame, and he seems like a decent human being. I am always impressed when someone manages to be famous and still be able to be a good person. I have always been intrigued by his clothing choices, and he SAYS he really doesn't spend much time thinking about what he is going to wear.

I missed the whole boy band thing with One Direction, and I only got interested in his music as an independent artist.

I learned that the style of constellation diagrams used in most modern astronomy guides was invented by Curious George author H. A. Rey.

I actually have a copy of this exact book! I didn't realize that it was kind of a classic now.

Do you draw individual cards, or make one drawing and then print it for as many cards as you need?

I drew one card and it has been scanned; I will address a batch of them when they're printed.

I paid no attention to One Direction, too - but Harry does seem like an interesting bloke. There's a knitting pattern widely available for his famous cardigan.

That is a lot of hard work! I'm sure your recipients are thrilled with their works of art.

If you're painting on watercolour paper, the recipients can get them framed.

That is - they can get them framed no matter what, but watercolour paper is archival and won't deteriorate or yellow.
