Today I am grateful for:

A peaceful day at home with no pressing needs.

Continued decent weather.

I spent some time outside with the goats/ponies. I let them out into the bigger pasture for a bit of running and farting. Then I spent some time picking up frozen pony poop and hauled a sled load over to the compost pile.

I am always so touched by little Brownie (goat) who is so sweet and cuddly. We have had several goats now over the years, and even the ones that don't seek out attention have been pretty gentle. Goats have gotten such a bad rap from people who must not have ever met one personally.

Indoors, I did a bunch of tedious but useful things. I put away dishes. I did a couple of loads of laundry and put away that and some from another day.

I organized my underwear drawer.

I repaired a cloth bag that I use for groceries.

Then I repaired a rip in one of River's winter blankets, and sewed a strip of velcro back on.

So, it was kind of boring, but that's okay sometimes.

My husband is wearing his new sweater and likes it.

I learned of the World War I naval battle on Africa's Lake Tanganyika between German warships and two 40 foot British motor boats. The motor boats were secretly dragged for 146 miles through the jungle by ox teams and tractors. The smaller and faster British boats easily sunk the warships.

Chore-filled days are rather pleasant and soothing.
