Jan. 12th, 2023 01:06 amToday I am grateful for:
Continued mild weather.
I went to see River. We had a lesson today.
It went well, and we worked on some more subtle refinements of the draw. We also worked a tiny bit on his bow, which the girl who rides him sometimes wanted to teach him. She's hardly ever working with him, so in a way, I'm not entirely sure why we are teaching him how to bow for her, since she is not going to learn the reality that if she wants to teach a horse something, she needs to be the one to do the work. What are WE teacher her? That someone else will do it for her.
Sigh.
She wants him to do a bow for a class that R is putting on to raise money for the horse rescue, but she is not committed to being here, so we're teaching him so she can do it for a class.
Follow the logic on that one.
You can bet your sweet patootie that I am going to use it too.
I came home, and didn't do much, which I've noticed has become a real pattern. I have been feeling very content with my quiet days, uninterrupted by banging contractors and such, but also largely unmotivated. At the same time, I feel like it's okay to enjoy peace when you can get it.
I did read a fair bit. More "Witcher".
I learned that Sweden has only fairly recently removed the munitions packed under several bridges and in key buildings in anticipation of an invasion (during the Cold War). They took their time in finally getting around to removing it all.
