Jan. 14th, 2023 03:24 amToday I am grateful for:
More steady, moderate weather.
A quick phone conversation with my Mom, and my husband got to chat with her too. It's nice that he does that.
We went to see River, and that was nice. River was kind of being goofy for a while, kind of wanting to just dork around and not pay attention, and I indulged that for a while, but we did have some work to do too.
He did pretty well on bending around barrels at Liberty with me on the ground. Again I was going for clarity in his responses for lateral cues.
We did some riding too, clarifying the back up and lateral some more.
K had a lesson at 7 pm, and we were in the barn finishing putting things away when K had kind of a melt down at R because he didn't know where the student's helmet was. It was unsettling.
Of course R didn't know where it was. It isn't her student, and, that student is an ADULT, so the location of that helmet should be the student's responsibility, and who else would use it or move it?
Oh well. At least he didn't have the melt down at us, but you could tell he was upset.
We came home and watched "Sisters" with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, which is pretty funny.
Then I worked on mending my Sweetie's favorite old sweater.
I learned that while Tim Burton came up with the idea and the characters for "Nightmare before Christmas", he did not direct the film. He was away working on other feature films while Henry Selick actually directed the film, doing his best to match Burton's vision.
Selick gets very little recognition for his work, and pretty much everyone considers this movie to be one of "Tim Burton's" best films.
