Today I am grateful for:

Lovely weather still.

My sweetie and I went to the city mainly to finally buy him some jeans, and there are good sales going on.

It actually wasn't as painful as it sometimes has been. He's funny about clothes, he rarely buys them, but when he does it has to be JUST RIGHT, and then he will wear those clothes until they fall apart. When he likes something, I want him just to buy 10 of whatever it is he finally likes, but it never works that way.

Today we only went to The Bay (sometimes we have to go to several stores, but there are lots of options at The Bay).

Even as we were leaving the house, I suggested just going to buy Levi's, since they are more or less what he likes. Today, after trying on a whole bunch of jeans, I finally said "Let's see if they have Levi's". They did. Basically the first pair he tried were like "oh, these are good".

Then we drove a fair extra distance to an actual movie store, likely one of the last in existence in our province. We aren't keen to sign up to a streaming service, especially since it seems like you would have to sign up to about three of them to still see what you wanted to see.

We found several new releases we were hoping to find, and some older ones that look good. My husband said he was willing to pick up some once in a while on his drive home from his job site, since it would not be that far out of his way to do so. For now, no telling where his next job site will be.

Maybe it seems pretty archaic to buy DVDs, and I would be just as happy to outright "buy" a downloadable digital movie if that were possible. The services though, never let you "own" the movie. You can't be sure it will be there the next time you want to see it, and you still have to pay premium prices to view new releases and so on.

We ate at Opa, (Greek fast food) which was pretty underwhelming. I am tired of these chain stores not even bothering to wipe down the tables in between customers. You look around for a place to sit, and even though you are the only people in there, every table looks dirty.

Then we went to a grocery store chain that was just close, and I took one look at the prices and said "we're done here, this is ridiculous". This store wanted literally almost twice as much money for avocados than I would pay at our normal chain, and a quick look at a few other items and they were all about two dollars more per item, same brands even. Jacked up prices on everything.

We just walked out and went to our normal chain, which wasn't that much harder to get to.

We got a fair amount of groceries, hopefully I won't need to shop again after pottery class on Monday. It's nice when I don't need to do so.

We came home, and I made a much more satisfying Greek salad for us, and we watched one of the movies; "Everything Everywhere All at Once", which was pretty insane and intense, but made sense eventually.

You can say "once", "twice", and "thrice", and that's it. However you can can say "quaternary" , or "twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets" and so on.

I didn't think I was picky about clothes until I realized that my taste does not align with what is generally in fashion at all.

I am also a buy-the-dvd person. I like having the physical thing. Sure fires can happen, etc, but having it just on the internet floating about out there doesn't feel like ownership at all. I wish some of these Netflix series would be released on DVD.

Yep! Exactly the reasons I prefer the physical thing. We do pay for Disney Plus and have a Netflix sub free with our phone service, but that's it.
