Jan. 19th, 2023 11:24 pmToday I am grateful for:
Nice weather.
A fun phone conversation with my Sister E, even though it got a little goofy. She was watching "The Man From Snowy River"', and right at the part where he goes over the cliff after the brumby herd. I told her just to watch her movie, and I would talk to her later, but she was like "oh, I can do both". She cannot do both. She basically just talked about what was happening in the movie the whole time.
I went to see River, and his eye looked okay. I noticed that he now has a good scrape on one of his hind legs. Why is this horse always hurting himself?
The lesson went well. We didn't cover a lot of ground, but focused on very clear distinctions in cues to distinguish "forward" from "disengage the hind" which were getting misinterpreted and likely not used with clarity on my part. We also went over the rope gate obstacle together, and did much better (though I used a bridle).
I came home and I must have done SOMETHING, though I am not sure what I did (I'm writing this on Thursday). Likely I dorked around on the computer.
Then I painted again, with happy results.
The last person executed by guillotine in France was....in 1977!!!!!!
