Today I am grateful for:

MORE lovely weather.

I didn't do much today besides my normal animal care chores.

I did go see River. We had a lesson today. It was mainly filming for the show that R is doing kind of within the barn community. It is several classes with low registration fees that is another fundraiser for the horse she is fostering for the rescue.

We filmed for two classes, both the obstacle class. I did it mounted with just the neck rope, and at the shoulder at Liberty. It took a few tries to get the gate obstacle mounted, but we did it. Overall, I don't know that we'll win because they are timed, but I don't care about trying to be fast. That doesn't even seem like a good idea for an obstacle class, I would rather do it RIGHT and not get River flustered by trying to rush. So, we get what we get.

I felt good about our work, though. Here are the links:

I came home and had a nap.

So, a very quiet day, though to be fair, I am still going to be up a few hours after posting this, likely watching some "House".

I learned that Queen Elizabeth I would tour the countryside, over twenty times during her 44 year reign.

It required somewhere between 400 and 600 carts (that seems like a wildly broad number) to carry her retinue, furniture, sheets, dishes, clothes, and the paperwork and other trappings of her office. They would descend like locusts on some local noble's home, taking over completely and likely eating them out of house and home both in terms of humans as well as dogs and horses.

They would then load it all up again after a few days and move another ten miles or so down the road.
