Today I am grateful for:

Very nice weather today. Who knows if we are done with the cold snaps for this year or not, but today was lovely.

Getting some of the water changed in the turtle tank and cleaning the cat litter, as well as doing a load of laundry. All done quickly enough that they barely felt like "doing chores".

My Sweetie took out the compost pail that lives in the kitchen.

We were in no hurry today to rush off anywhere, so that felt nice.

We did go to the barn to see River.

He is now shedding. He always seems to shed a lot sooner than the mares at home, no idea why. I got totally coated in white hair, especially after riding bareback.

The Sunday rider was there for a while. Nice to see her.

River was a little sleepy, but otherwise everything went well with our session. I did not over-do anything, and the session was of reasonable duration and ended on a good note.

We came home and had supper, and watched a fairly new movie called "Memory" which was decent enough.

I learned that monotremes (platypus, echidna) actually evolved to no longer have stomachs. They have a bit of a holding pouch/gullet that is directly connects the esophagus to the intestines. They do not produce stomach acids. Apparently they don't even have the latent genes to make a stomach anymore, and would have to have a mutation to do so in the future.

I do not have a link for this one, as I had to read a few different things to piece this together.
