The structure to my life that the barn schedule gives to me. Otherwise I would scarcely know what day it was.
I had a lesson today, and that went well. We worked on the same things, mostly. The Liberty circles are improving with the use of hind quarter yields to keep him from drifting. The yields at the girth are good for roundness.
We did a bit of work on clarifying the yield on the haunches.
I came home and spent an inordinately long time trying to figure out how to make a neck rope out of a different kind of rope, and decided that it won't work with the long knot I wanted to use to make a hand grip. Back to the drawing board.
It is still pretty cold, mainly because of the wind. It has been windy all week, and that makes it feel a lot colder than the actual temperature would feel.
I learned that the New Zealand government built castaway shelters along shipping routes on their subarctic islands to be used by castaways. The cabins were stocked with food and clothing and were on a patrol route. On some of the islands, animals were even released there to provide potential food.
