Mar. 15th, 2023 01:05 amToday I am grateful for:
Sunshine. Fairly pleasant outside today.
A phone conversation with Trainwreck that was more or less conversational, and did not induce bad feelings. How nice.
I spoke with our pottery "leader" about the issues surrounding the cleanliness of the studio, and if nothing else I voiced my opinion that we are doing a pretty good job, and that if a tiny group of people are having issues with reactions to the dust, that maybe that isn't something we can control. We would have to do a LOT of cleaning to improve the air quality (that is already quite good). It is a situation of diminishing returns.
I don't know if my speaking up means anything, but maybe some other people will respond similarly. I am tired of feeling like instead of THROWING POTTERY, my evening needs to be spent meticulously scrubbing our studio so that a group of hypochondriacs can feel like they have achieved some kind of control over their lives.
I tried to leave to go ride River, and got stuck in our own drive way. That was pretty frustrating.
It was juuussst warm enough to turn the solidly packed snow into something softer.
Our mechanic from nearby was able to come tow me out pretty quickly, and I just left the car parked at the end of the lane. I was grateful for his help, as it made me feel like I wasn't trapped.
I will need to find someone who can come scrape the thick layer of packed snow down to the gravel.
So, it was too late to go ride as a result.
I was pretty angry about it, and it made me feel like today was a wasted day.
I did spend some time with the goats/ponies outside, then I came inside and read, and I worked on a necklace.
I learned that the Faroe Islands have a giant underwater traffic roundabout, part of an 11 km long tunnel under the sea. The tunnel connects two of its most populous islands. Called the Jellyfish Roundabout, it features an illuminated rock and sculptures by TrĂ³ndur Patursson.
So pretty!
