Today I am grateful for:

Very nice day today. Warm enough to start melting some snow.

I took off dear old Hollywood's blanket, and for a very old horse she held her weight not too badly this winter. She looks old, but not too skinny (I do check her often by taking the blankets off and making sure there aren't any injuries or rubbing areas etc. as well as her weight).

I went to town (different from the one where I do pottery) to run errands and just have a recreation day.

I checked the mail, got a can of white paint for trim, went to the thrift store (took a few things in to donate) and found some treasures, got more hay cubes, got some of the frozen cat food, and picked up some beads.

I enjoyed my time at the thrift store, as I was in no hurry. I didn't buy much, but enjoyed the process of looking around.

I came home and had to do some organizing in the freezer to make room for the frozen cat food.

I learned about Brachycephalus, the world's smallest vertebrate, a frog so small it could sit on the head of a pencil eraser. Their auditory systems have also shrunk: at least two species can't hear their own mating calls.

It's kind of awful, the evolution of them getting smaller and smaller has messed with their auditory system so badly, that it has completely destroyed their ability to hop effectively. They can launch, and then they just kind of ...FALL.
