Today I am grateful for:

More gorgeous weather.

My husband's help in moving quite a lot of manure out of the goat/pony pen. As the snow melts, all the manure starts to be exposed that has been buried all winter, and even though I picked up some all winter long, there was always a lot I didn't get. Quite a project.

Roxy came outside for a while, and had a good, healthy poop. We only gently walked to protect her leg.

We went to see River, and the Sunday person was leaving as we arrived. We did chat with her for a while.

I worked with River, and felt that for whatever reason, he was in a good space, and trotting with a bit more pep, etc.

I mulled it over, and decided that since my husband was there, I would try to film my pattern again. I wasn't sure if I could change the video submitted for the class, but I thought it might be worth a try.

This is because when I had a chance to look at the video I did with R the other day, I wasn't really that happy with it. Yes, it was good in that it was a HARD pattern, but River was really slow and pokey in that video, and in several places he had actually slowed to a walk, which really lowers your score.

R felt that the video was "excellent", but maybe she was thinking "excellent considering...".

I felt like we could do better.

So, although we had to do it a few times because we messed up little things, after several grueling attempts, we got a video that I thought was better.

I also wore my husband's sweater, which is DEFINTELY a sweater with long sleeves and a collar.

After LOTS OF RUNNING beside River, I rode for a short while mostly to see if we could improve that turn on the haunches, and it was a little better today.

When I came home, I was able to edit my entry, and use the new video. This is because the deadline for submission is Sunday, midnight (you had two days to enter and post a video). So, I learned that it was possible to edit, which is good in case you mix up the videos or something.

We came home and watched "End of Watch", a gritty cop movie based on some real people and events. It was pretty gruesome, but a good movie.

Today I learned about "Project Surname" in Canada, where the government wanted the Inuit people to register themselves with first and last names so they could continue in the Western manner with their children and so on having surnames. In part this was so the government could get away from having them assigned numbers.

I'm catching up after not being here for much of last week. I'm shocked about Roxy's surgery and so sorry I didn't realize y'all were dealing with that. Has the biopsy come back yet? Sending all my best wishes!!!

There's nothing like seeing one's beloved animal deliver a nice, healthy exhibit of working digestive plumbing!

We waited nearly a week for the poor Pink Boy, who had to be put on the anti-diarrheal after an accident.

In 2016, when he had intestinal surgery, it was the greatest relief in the world to see him circle and squat. "Everything works!"
