Mar. 30th, 2023 10:50 pmToday I am grateful for:
Roxy seems at least to be in good spirits. She is on a sedative, but she doesn't seem that different to me (?). When we went outside for a while, she would have been willing to run around as per usual but that I had her on a leash.
She had a good poop, and we walked around for a while and I let her sniff emerging bits of soil as the sun melts the snow.
I did a few small useful tasks. A load of laundry, picking up some craft items and putting them in a storage bin, putting away recently viewed DVDs.
I have been feeling run down what with not sleeping that well this past week, and having just a bit of a sore throat that I think my husband brought home with him this past weekend. I decided that I needed to have a quiet day at home with low expectations.
I didn't really nap, though I tried, but I read a fair bit.
Roxy spent most of the day napping, so that is good.
I learned (from "House M.D." of all places) that cats spend most of their day in "alpha" state. That is a reference to the type of brainwaves that indicate a deeply relaxed but also alert state of mind. It is similar to what humans hope for when they meditate or are under hypnosis.
