Apr. 10th, 2023 01:56 amToday I am grateful for:
Beautiful weather.
We went to see River at the riding barn. It was a beautiful day for it.
We saw R for a while, and chatted a bit with her.
River did well, but his right fore was still a bit off, so we once again took it easy.
He was willing and responded well, so I didn't feel the need to repeat much, and we had a shorter, lighter session overall.
We came home, and my Sweetie put up some mesh under the roof line to hopefully keep birds from nesting there until we sort out what to do about the soffits.
We watched "Babylon", and it was...a lot. You have to wonder why so many movies about "old Hollywood" seem like cautionary tales that end horribly and maudlin sad. It is a trope after a while. Like you can't be famous and be happy on any level.
It was INTERESTING in places, and far too much information in others, and beautifully shot, and great acting, but it was too long, there was one scene in particular that could have been cut out completely and I would have been fine with that, and at one point there was what felt like it could have been a good ending for the film but instead they added a 20 minute ending that was too sentimental and weaker.
I learned that humans are the only animal to have a chin, and that the chin does not serve a known purpose.
