Apr. 12th, 2023 04:10 amToday I am grateful for:
I got some better sleep last night.
That we have horse blankets. We had a ton of sloppy snow that is almost just freezing rain, and though it was barely at freezing, it's terrible for the animals to be wet at that temperature.
I had taken their blankets off because it was super warm yesterday, so they were wet when I went out to do chores, but they warmed up and dried out with the blankets on them.
I still went to see River, and that was good. The roads were not awesome, so I slowed down and it was okay.
River did well, he's still a teensy bit sore but better. I still respected that and gave him a pretty easy day.
The wet snow had accumulated on the tent-like roof of the arena, and was sliding down and making a ton of noise, but River was pretty good about it. He spooked a bit at one especially big slide, but otherwise pretty good.
I came home and had a nap, then watched some "House".
I learned that fossilization is so unlikely that scientists estimate that less one-tenth of 1% of all the animal species that have ever lived have become fossils.
