Today I am grateful for:

Cooler weather, which feels more normal for May, and a tiny bit of rain during the night. Not likely enough to put out the fires, but every little bit helps.

My Sweetie and I worked on putting the drain in by the spot the weeping tile pumps out, and filled in the trench.

Of course, parts of the yard are a mess again. Sigh.

We also spread grass seed on the enormous bare spot where the sea can sat for three years.

We went to see River, and that was nice. Still windy enough that I just worked in the indoor arena.

He did pretty well today. We did the usual groundwork, and some obstacles. Lots and lots of the same areas that need a bit of work, and really well on a couple of things.

We spent some time hand grazing him afterwards on an especially nice patch of grass in the yard near the arena.

We came home and watched "Us", by Jordan Peele. We've watched most of his "horror" movies that are often kind of metaphorical, and while they are always thought-provoking and very...different, they are also often unsettling. Still, they make you work a little.

I learned that the shape used to create "paisley" prints evolved from the Boteh or Buta, a shape that is the Zoroastrian symbol for life and eternity.

I will have to research the paisley. There's a Zoroastrian priest in my DNA tree. I'm in the process of figuring out exactly how I am related to him.
