Jun. 13th, 2023 11:21 pmToday I am grateful for:
Maybe a chance of rain overnight.
Still pretty hot today, though.
I talked to Sister E's husband for a while, and that was nice.
I went to see River.
His nose seems to be doing better since I've been putting the zinc cream on it. Sunscreen doesn't help him much, it only lasts for a couple of hours. The zinc acts like an actual block for the sun, and helps his nose heal up.
I didn't have any strong goals for today, but we worked on our general ground work, and he did well with that.
I did ride a bit, in the indoor arena, and there was getting to be a fair amount of thunder, so I decided to wrap it up.
What I did do still, was to do more groundwork with him in his pasture with his friends. I led him right to where they all were, then proceeded to work with him for about ten minutes, then I led him away from his friends quite a distance, gave him a break, then did a bit of liberty work there to see if he would leave, and he did not. Then at liberty, I walked him back to his friends, then walked PAST them, and he stayed with me. So I formally "released" him.
I came home, and let everyone out into their pastures.
My Sweetie came home, and we sat with the goats/ponies for a while, then brought everyone back in. I spent some time combing through Dandy's very heavy mane while my husband picked up manure in their corral.
We came in and watched "Ava", a not-bad assassin type movie. It was really just okay. Great actors, though.
I learned a bit about how brain geometry shapes it's function.
