Jun. 14th, 2023 10:52 pmToday I am grateful for:
We are finally getting some rain.
I needed to blanket dear Hollywood, because it went from 30 C to 10 C in one day, and she was shivering. The blanket will likely get soaked, but they are somewhat insulating even when wet, and I'll keep changing them out.
I had a good phone conversation with Sister E.
I went to see River, and my Sweetie met me at the barn (as my ride time is evening). He's been working in the city, and the barn isn't far out of his way.
River's breathing was good because it is cool and wet. He had decent energy levels without being stupid about it.
We had a good lesson. We worked on a pattern, hopefully we can film it next week.
Then we did actual ridden work, equitation, for a barn show that will be in July. We used the bitless bridle for that.
He did pretty well considering it's been forever since we worked on actual ridden work.
I once again did some work with him in the pasture so that he doesn't immediately think of his friends as being relief.
I let everyone out for a while into their pastures.
We watched an oldie but goodie, "Ace Ventura". It was actually pretty funny.
I found this interesting Wikipedia page about comfort food in many countries. It is absolutely correct about Canada, and it's funny about the Mac n Cheese, is that Canadians consume more Kraft Mac n Cheese than any other country, even more than the U.S.
I would say it's the Canadian version of ramen noodles, convenient and cheap.
