Today I am grateful for:

Sunshine, and just nice and warm, not burning hot.

Did the dishes.

I pulled more weeds and grass in the area I hope to mulch.

I went to see River, and we had a lesson with R.

He was nice and dry, though a bit muddy. His hooves were giant balls of clay so I hosed them off.

We worked on getting a good video of the current pattern to submit to an online virtual show soon.

The first try was okay, but both R and I felt we could do a bit better, so we tried for a second one.

The second was better, so that's the one we're going with.

I came home, and figured that if I just got right on it, I could fit in a bike ride tonight. I currently do not have a bike rack, and the bike doesn't fit in my car, so I have to use the truck.

The truck was still hitched to a trailer, so I had to unhitch it, find all my bike gear that I haven't had out yet this year, and get to the park down the road.

It was a good ride, perfect temperature, no bugs, just beautiful. I was actually not too winded, though it certainly used different muscles than I am used to using.

I really like this bike, even though the old one was good too (but I had it a long, long time and it always was a little short in the frame for me; I'm tall). The gearing is a little better.

I came home and ...I think, anyhow...got this video of River and I onto Youtube using my phone. For some reason, I can't access my Youtube account at all from the computer. I have no idea why.

Last night I was googling the effect of alcoholism on lungs, and I didn't realize that chronic drinking actually ruins the movement of cilia in the lungs, which means the lungs stay clogged up with mucus and all the garbage that is supposed to be flushed out with it. Thus increasing the risk of...ta daaaaa... chronic lung infections and so on.

My sister Trainwreck has had terrible issues with her lungs for a very long time, and while I always blamed it on smoking, likely just as much it was the drinking. My family and TW always said "it's because TW had bronchitis as a child, it has nothing to do with drinking or smoking".

The reason why they said this, is because pretty much everyone else in my family smoked, and they hated thinking about what they were doing to themselves. My one sister S ALWAYS says "they really don't have any proof that smoking causes cancer".

So, this last year or so, TW has constantly felt like she can't breathe. She's had lung infections for about a whole year now without a break, and while she did quit smoking, she hasn't quit drinking (maybe slowed down a bit? I have no idea if she has or not, it's not like any of us know what she drinks or used to drink).

I don't know if even quitting drinking would help her at all at this point. She's likely just going to die from this, and likely doesn't have a lot more time.

What an awful way to go. At some point she's likely going to end up on a ventilator, but what difference will it make if she won't improve?

There. If any of you are still smoking or drinking a lot, STOP IT!!!!

I learned that the original score for "Mission Impossible" was done in a 5/4 time signature, and that the theme was based on the Morse Code dots and dashes for "M" and "I". The notes and spaces representing the letters fit perfectly into the 5/4 signature.

Just one more reason to be glad I never got into alcohol. Eeesh! That's surprising that it affects the lungs, too.

I'm glad the rain helped with the fires.
