Jun. 26th, 2023 03:02 amToday I am grateful for:
Another beautiful day, again not too hot.
I got some cleaning things done; the dishes, changed the sheets, washed the ones I took off and hung them outside to dry, folded laundry from yesterday.
My Sweetie came home for one day, and tomorrow he will go back to work. He was on his way back from the second day of the MS bike ride, and our place is right on the way anyhow.
He had a good day at the bike ride.
We went to see River, and there were lots of people around. R and her husband and daughter were doing maintenance work, and in a way it's good to be reminded that their lovely property does mean lots of work on it.
The Sunday rider was there, and we ended up riding together in the outdoor arena.
River's breathing wasn't great, but okay if I gave him lots of breaks. We worked on ridden work again, mostly on transitions. Riding with the other rider was good practice, as we hardly ever ride on the rail behind or ahead of anyone anymore. So often we work alone.
Nice to chat with others.
My Sweetie and I went for a bike ride at the park down the road. I wasn't sure if he would want to, but let's be honest; my pace and distance aren't much of a challenge for him.
We did end up going on a road that isn't an official park trail, but is an access trail to the water treatment buildings that might serve more than just the park. It's a nice trail, but a bit isolated and I don't think I would want to bike them alone.
We haven't done that trail for a couple of years now, mainly because I have been too busy to bike, and if I don't initiate biking, my husband tends not to because he often bikes wherever his job location is. Also, the house stuff has meant less time to do fun things, and somehow Covid shifted our mindset about doing things.
We have to remember to do the things we enjoy, and make a point of it.
Then we came home and watched "10,000 B.C." which was pretty bad.
I feel kind of bad for the main actor in this movie, as he did a good job of acting, in fact they all did. It was even pretty good as far as effects and so on, just a horrible plot.
I learned that to end the controversial use of children in camel racing, they now use robots to guide the camels. The use of children was creating human rights issues, such as the children being bought and sold, starved to stay small, etc.
