Today I am grateful for:

Decent weather, though smokey again. We are getting a breeze carrying smoke from the NE. I didn't realize that there were still forest fires up there; we've had a lot of rain recently.

More good sleep.

I cleaned the house up a bit, I always do when my Sweetie is coming home. I changed the sheets, cleaned up the kitchen, swept, vacuumed, tidied up the bathroom, and did some laundry. If nothing else, having him come home every ten days means I try to clean up a bit every ten days.

After doing normal chores, I started back digging out the giant hole that I need to remove a lot of the current clay so we can fill it back in with topsoil so I can plant some shrubs there.

By the time my Sweetie got home he helped, and we got something like eight wheelbarrow/cart loads of clay removed, and that might finally be enough.

Each load had to be walked across the yard to be dumped beside the barn where we need clay to bank it up a bit.

Then we went out to the garden and pulled some nice radishes.

He had a bath, I changed the cat litter and made supper.

He picked up two new DVDs for this weekend, and we watched "Renfield". It is VERY gory, but also funny and campy and has Nic Cage in it as Dracula. It was a lot of fun.

I learned about Red Shanked Doucs (Doucs is a primate family, which I had never heard of before).

The Renfield movie looked amusing, but the excessive gore (which looked totally campy in the previews) turned me off of it, ah well.

Glad you've been enjoying good sleep, that can make such a difference!
